Gate994 gathered members of the Azerbaijani tech community in Silicon Valley for a focused meetup aimed at strengthening connections, addressing ecosystem challenges, and introducing the emerging Gate994 network and platform. The event took place at Plug and Play’s global headquarters in Sunnyvale and brought together approximately 40 Azerbaijani professionals working across leading technology companies and top universities, including Meta, Uber, Google, and Stanford.
The program opened with remarks from Mammad Karim, General Partner of Caucasus Ventures. He highlighted the importance of building a cohesive diaspora-driven tech network and emphasized the potential impact such communities can have on Azerbaijan’s innovation landscape. His speech was followed by contributions from Vurghun Hajiyev and Ulvi Aslanov, who expanded on current challenges facing Azerbaijani talent abroad and the need for structured collaboration channels.
Participants engaged in an open discussion on common concerns within the diaspora tech community, ranging from fragmented communication to limited visibility of regional opportunities. The introduction of the Gate994 platform served as a key step toward addressing these gaps by offering a central place for networking, talent discovery, and community initiatives.
The formal program concluded with an active networking session. Attendees exchanged contacts, explored potential collaborations, and expressed strong interest in shaping a long-term community presence in the Bay Area.
Gate994 plans to continue hosting such gatherings to elevate Azerbaijani representation across global tech hubs and foster stronger bridges between Silicon Valley and the innovation ecosystem back home.
